What happens when sustainability meets team spirit?
That’s exactly what we got to experience at JH Holding’s team-building event in July.
This year’s team-building event was themed “Sustainability: Zero Waste & Zero Emissions.” Our visit to Progroup in Sandersdorf-Brehna couldn’t have been more fitting.
On Thursday morning, we had the opportunity to tour the PM3 paper mill. This state-of-the-art facility, which has been producing corrugated base paper from recycled paper since August 2020, has an annual capacity of around 750,000 metric tons and impressively demonstrates just how efficient a modern circular economy can be.
Sustainability, Technology, and Corporate Responsibility
In the afternoon, the group toured the waste-to-energy power plant. There, waste materials from the paper mill and regional recycling processes are thermally recycled. This generates process heat and electricity for the site. It is a powerful example of how sustainability, technology, and corporate responsibility can be integrated.
Driving through Leipzig in a Trabi
In addition to all these impressive insights, there was plenty of time for team bonding.
The Trabi tour through Leipzig—a real highlight—with lots of laughter along the way and the day’s finale at Auerbachs Keller, showed what makes a great team event: shared experiences, genuine conversations, and the joy of being together.
Tracing History
On Friday, the “Stasi Intern” guided tour at the Memorial Museum in the “Runde Ecke,” which includes the museum in the Stasi bunker, rounded out our program. It was a powerful conclusion that gave us a break for thought and, at the same time, sharpened our sense of responsibility.
Three days that brought us a little closer together as a team.
