Intergenerational Family Days

Maintaining close ties with the company

JH Holding, with its subsidiaries Progroup and Professionals Academy, is characterized by family tradition. A binding part of our calendars are the annual family days, on which all the ‘Heindls’ – Progroup founder Jürgen with his wife Herta, Maximilian with his wife Ina and their two children and Vinzenz with his partner Annika – travel to one of our Progroup sites for four days. Since 2015, they have been a tradition that we are delighted to maintain.

Personal connection with local people and machines

During these days, we visit one of our plants together, engage in a personal exchange with the employees and familiarize ourselves with the special features on site. This gives us an insight into the respective technology and product portfolio. We also get to talk to Progroup’s packaging park partners on an informal level on such occasions and discuss current opportunities and challenges.

So far, we have been guests at the sheetfeeder plants PW02 in Douvrin, PW03 in Burg, PW04 in Rokycany, PW05 in Schüttorf, PW06 in Offenbach/Queich, PW10 in Trczinica, at the PM1 paper mill in Burg, PM2 in Eisenhüttenstadt, at the PPO1 waste-to-energy power plant in Eisenhüttenstadt and at Logistics in Burg.

Family Days as an opportunity to locational solidarity

For us, the family days also offer a valuable opportunity to spend time as a family. We explore the local area, visit places of interest and enjoy nature. This deepens our understanding of the respective site.

For example, during our visit to the Eisenhüttenstadt site in May 2024, the permanent exhibition in the museum “Utopia and Everyday Life” provided a vivid introduction to everyday life, politics and society in the GDR. During the city tour through the “area monument” Eisenhüttenstadt, we learned it was the first fully planned and organized city foundation in the GDR. We were surprised by the spacious housing estates and courtyards with lots of green space. A lock tour on the Oder-Spree Canal to the Oder with the paddle steamer “Alexander” and a stroll through the monastery market in Neuzelle rounded off a very varied and interesting program.

The importance of Family Days for families and companies

The family days symbolize our promise to our employees, customers and business partners. They show that we take our responsibility as a family business seriously and create awareness of this across generations. It is equally important for us to live our values and strength as a family. These days are and will remain an important part of our close relationship with Progroup.
